Virkade drakar – Crochet dragons
There is something special about dragons, don’t you think?
Both of these dragons are made after Lucy Ravenscar’s free pattern “Slightly fierce but friendly dragon”, available here: Lucyravenscar Crochet Creatures.
Although my dragons look as if the pattern was named “… and not so friendly dragon”.
I crocheted a thin wire around the perimeter of the wings so they could keep their shape better. The wire had to be very thin because the dragons are so small. I found the thread I needed on the inside of a wire-lined decorative ribbon.
The dragons are perfect! The green one is my favorite!
I added your site to my blogroll. 🙂
love it!
🙂
I made one of these as well. I didn’t put wire in the wings but wish I had. I did make a stem from pipe cleaners I twisted together and put inside the tail so I can pose that. The next one I make will have wire in the wings as well.
I would just love to see a picture of the one you made!

The dragon pattern isn’t mine to share, you can find it on Lucy Ravenscars web site.
The green dragon is ridiculously perfect. Everything on your site inspires me, and so now I’m making a dragon of my own from Lucy’s pattern.
IfWhen I finish it, I’ll post a picture for you.Anywho, I bookmarked your site and I’ll keep checking back at your beautiful creations. Thank you! c:
Thank you so much Mariya! 😀 And do send me a picture of your dragon once it is finished! I can’t wait to see it!
Thank you for posting.
I just saw your dragon on Facebook and wanted to know if this is a newly modified pattern or the same pattern as the larger dragon (just using a smaller hook).
Hi Dee,
Thank you for liking my tiny dragon! It is the same pattern from Lucy Ravenscar, but I used a smaller hook and thread, /Anita
