Simply Ami Violette
There has not been much crocheted or blogged lately, because we have had a BIG cleaning of the attic, taking care of all the old stuff. It is remarkable how much one has accumulated over the years! The volume was becoming unmanageable, and now that we have not looked at the stuff in over 10 years we decided: Now we deal with it! We’ve tossed, donated and sold. Much to do but Wow! how good it feels to finally get it done!
I am so very fond of Beth Webber crocheted dolls, and if you haven’t yet checked out her website ByHookByHand, do it! She so generously shares her designs for free, and there are so many fabulous to choose from, all equally fun to do!
One of her designs is called Simply Amis and is available in two variants; a small dock called Mignonette and a larger called Violette. I have done Mignonette before, in a thin fine yarn so she was just 6 cm tall. This doll is different when it comes to the technique of attaching the head to the body. It makes the head a little bit moveable in all directions.
Now I also crocheted Violette. I also made her a small bunny to play with, and it’s a combination of my own patterns for teddies and bunnies that you can download for free here on my blog. The shoes are my own design (not written down yet), and the dress is inspired by Beth’s patterns.

Hi! For the mouse I used DROPS Alpacka and crochet hook Boye size 8. The dress is a mix of white DMC 10 and a pink left over thread of the same quality and size. /Anita
