I butiker som säljer godis i lösvikt levereras godiset i fyrkantiga plastaskar.
Dessa askar slänger butiken ofta bort när de är tomma, men de är hur praktiska som helst att använda! De är genomskinliga så det är lätt att se vad som finns i dem, och de har lock och går att stapla på varandra.

Jag har en snäll lokal godishandlare och brukar få hämta så många sådana askar jag vill gratis bara jag inte stökar till i deras skräpförråd. Det händer att jag köper något i affären också 🙂 Choklad och lakrits är ju så gott!

In shops selling candy in bulk (pick-and-mix candy), the candy is often delivered in square plastic boxes. At least here in Scandinavia, but I think also in UK where Candyking has them. Often these boxes are thrown away once emtpy, but they can be put to really good use! They are transparent so it is easy to see what’s in them, and they have lids and can be stacked on another.

I have such a nice local candy merchant and he lets me take as many of these boxes as I want for free as long as I don’t create a mess in his litter storage. Sometimes I buy something in the shop too 🙂 Chocolate and licorice is so yummy!

Askarna använder jag till allt möjligt! I mitt pysselrum har jag dem till att förvara band, knappar, garn, virkprojekt, trådrullar och allehanda småsaker. I städskåpet till att förvara batterier, elprylar, spik och skruv. Jag använder dem i frysen för att förvara bakverk, svamp, överbliven mat och småförpackningar. Vi har fruktträdgård, så jag använder dem även till att frysa in rabarber, skivade äpplen, persilja och kryddor.

Ja, de går att använda till allt som jag behöver ha ordning och reda på!

I use the boxes for everything! In my craft room I have them to store ribbons, buttons, yarn, unfinished projects, spools of thread and all sorts of little things. In the broom closet I use them to store batteries, electric trivia, nails and screws. I use them in the freezer to store pastry, mushrooms, leftover food and small packages that I like to keep in one place. We have an orchard, so I also use them to freeze rhubarb, sliced ​​apples, parsley and spices.

They can indeed be used for almost anything I need to store and keep in order!

Ibland vill jag ha askarna framme, och då vill jag att de ska vara lite snyggare. I badrummet till exempel, för att förvara flaskor och burkar, borstar och kammar. Så jag virkade ett överdrag till dem!

Sometimes I want to have the boxes displayed, and then I want them to be a little fancier. In the bathroom, for instance, to store bottles and cans, combs and brushes. So I crocheted a cover to them!

You can find the free pattern for the crochet box cover here. The pattern can easily be adapted to other sized of containers by making fewer/more rounds on the bottom and on the sides. Enjoy!
